Rather than propaganda to enlist more butters, I thought I'd go with a poster to help us all be better butters. I always found the home front as interesting as the battlefields, mostly because my family stayed behind. My great-granddad died in World War I. My granddad was too young to enlist in the beginning. He became a boiler maker and ended up making planes for the war. That was on my dad's side, not sure about my mom's? Oh, much darker Great granddad was captured by the Japanese and held in Changi prison, Singapore, where he was tortured. He eventually returned to England emaciated and died not long after. He was never the same, my mom said, before he died that is, not after, no one is ever the same when they're dead. I'm thinking this through too much!
